Magic IPTV Review

Magic IPTV has closed shop, please check out some of the other providers

Packages

Magic IPTV subscriptions are somewhat confusing. Each plan is named differently which might suggest to some that they include different channel packages or services. However, the only thing that sets them apart is the subscription length. You get the same service with each plan. The prices are as follows:

  • Starter Plan (1 month) – £19.95
  • Basic Plan (3 months) – £47.00
  • Commercial Plan (6 months) – £70.00
  • Premium Plan (12 months) – £127.00

This is clearly on the expensive side compared to other providers. But, not many providers have 4000 channels in their line-up! So, on the annual plan, you get literally thousands of TV channels from all over the world for a little over £10 per month. If you are willing to commit to Magic IPTV for a full year, the deal is actually quite good.

But, this provider is clearly not for everyone. Or at least there are much cheaper alternatives. If content from all corners of the world is what you need, there is hardly a better choice than Magic IPTV. However, in case you only require TV channels in English, check out some of the other providers that focus on US, CA and UK television.

Now, to add to the confusion, Magic IPTV offers for each of these plans two different playlists:

  • Premium: Needs to be specifically requested during checkout. Focused on international content with no less than 4000 international TV channels. Plenty of HD channels but also (backup) SD channels.
  • Advanced: Default playlist. Around 2.5k channels primarily in HD quality. Still plenty of international content.

Both plans provide access to the same VoD library with around 9000 titles.

Content

While some IPTV services focus on just a few countries’ TV stations Magic IPTV clearly goes the opposite way. 4000 channels from dozens of countries make this the best IPTV service for Expats looking for entertainment from back home.

This doesn’t mean that English channels are missing, though. Magic easily competes on equal footing with other providers when it comes to their selection from US, UK and CA. But, the clear selling point here is their international offering. You will find channels from Norway, Netherlands, Middle East, India, Hungary, Turkey, Russia and many many more. And that is on both the Premium and Advanced playlists. For more “exotic” countries, the Premium offering is the way to go with a much bigger playlist (4k vs. 2.5k on the Advanced playlist) and coverage of regions.

We can also confirm that the Video-on-Demand section on Magic IPTV is equally impressive. A whopping 9000 movies and series are ready for viewing. And, they cover both English as well as non-English content. Of course, for those seeking Bollywood movies, Magic IPTV has you covered.

There is one downside to Magic’s seemingly compulsive hoarding of TV channels from every conceivable corner of the world: The EPG. Naturally, keeping data on 4000 channels’ schedule is close to impossible. It therefore does not come as a surprise that their EPG lacks the quality of the much more focused IPTV service providers. Many channels are without listings and are missing channel icons. If a spotless EPG is important to you and you can do without Thai soap operas, shop around for other providers.

Quality & Reliability

With 4000 channels on their playlist, it does not come as a surprise that you will not get every single channel from Ex-Yugoslavia in crisp HD. But, overall, the streaming quality is good and reliable.

Magic also has the added benefit of offering many channels both in HD or in SD as a backup. So in case one channel is down or your internet connection is not quite up to the task, you can fall back on another stream.

Slow Streams or Buffering?

Are your streams loading too slow? Getting constant buffering? Not able to stream at full resolution? Check out these tips to improve your streaming experience:
  • Use a modern Router that has advanced features like QoS to prioritize video content. Check out our recommended Routers for Streaming.
  • If you are using a Wifi connection, be sure to check out our 9 easy steps to improve your Wifi for Streaming.
  • Some Internet Service Providers throttle video streaming traffic without telling their customers. A VPN encrypts all your traffic and circumvents throttling, blocking and geographical restrictions.

The Advanced playlist is Magic’s flagship package. Compared to the Premium package, a lot more of the programs are available in HD. If your connection is fast enough and the playlist covers all your needs, definitely opt for Advanced. However, if you are limited by your internet speed or need additional channels, Premium will be the best choice.

Compatibility

Magic IPTV’s compatibility is comparable to most other providers. You won’t get a fancy Android app or Kodi addon to automatically configure everything for you. However, Magic has a good tutorials section with videos that talk you through the process of setting up the service with your preferred device.

Obviously, Stalker supported devices, such as the evergreen MAG boxes  or the newer Dreamlink T1+, are easily set up and provide a great all-in-one solution.

As with any other provider, Android TV boxes are an excellent choice to stream Magic if you look for some additional functionality over a Stalker set-top box that primarily streams IPTV. Kodi would be the obvious choice to access the streams.

Since you have the option to stream via m3u link, a Roku TV box should work as well. However, we have not tested this ourselves.

Warning

Governments and ISPs across the world monitor their users' online activities. If found streaming copyright content, you could get into serious legal trouble. Currently, your IP 2600:3c07::f03c:95ff:fe67:cbac is visible to everyone. I strongly recommend you to get the best VPN for streaming and hide your identity so that your entertainment doesn’t take a bad turn.

Here are the reasons why you must use a VPN all the time.

I use and recommend PureVPN which is the fastest and most secure VPN in the industry. It is very easy to install on any device including Android TV boxes. Also, it comes with a 31-day money-back guarantee. If you don't like their service, you can always ask for a refund.
