Silk Stream IPTV Review

Hey guys and gals, I hope everyone is well during these hard times. I have done a review of Silk Stream that I have been with for over a year now.

The packages available have just had a slight increase in prices, unfortunately, but I still think it’s reasonable compared to other services available. But when you’re comparing prices to the savings on Virgin, well it’s nothing.

Silk Stream

Packages

1 MONTH SINGLE CONNECTION – £9.50

  1 MONTH X 2 CONNECTIONS – £12.50

  1 MONTH X 3 CONNECTIONS – £14.50

3 MONTH SINGLE CONNECTION – £20

  3 MONTH X 2 CONNECTIONS – £23

  3 MONTH X 3 CONNECTIONS – £26

6 MONTH SINGLE CONNECTION – £30

  6 MONTH X 2 CONNECTIONS – £35

  6 MONTH X 3 CONNECTIONS – £40

It doesn’t say 12 months but I have had 12-month subs for the last 2 years without any problems. So if you would like to go for the 12-month option then just ask before purchasing your sub.

Also, they have a backup service that you can buy alongside your main.  At the time I got a backup service for 12 months for £12. In the 2nd year, I got a 6-month free backup.

Here are Silk Stream’s backup price list:

1 MONTH SINGLE – £4

  2CON – £5

  4CON – £6.50

3 MONTH SINGLE – £10

  2CON – £12

  4CON – £14.50

6 MONTH SINGLE – £14

  2CON – £16

  4CON – £19

12 MONTH SINGLE – £22

  2CON – £25

  4CON – £28

When buying the sub, they don’t have a website, instead, they have a discord group. The owner will give you his revoult account to pay with as he no longer accepts PayPal due to chargebacks.

Content

Silk Stream offers several countries like other subs. But instead of being the jack of all trades and master of none, Silk Stream mostly caters to the UK and USA audience. And they do this very well.

As I live in England, I was looking for a sub that would offer mainly England channels. I tried a few subs but the UK content was poor.

Currently, Silk Stream has 2869 channels across 8 countries:

UK

USA

Canadian

Bangali

Spanish

Greek

Islamic

Pakistani

Along with all the sports, there is a 3 pm category with all the teams on so you don’t have to search for the channel with the game you want.

I know this is common practice with other subs, but it is still a nice touch when done correctly. Knowing you only have to look and click on the game you want. No matter what country it is on it will take you to the correct channel.

Silk Stream has a lot of VOD available which is very reliable. With all the latest films and shows. Unfortunately, the backup VOD is down but we are told this will be back up soon.

After using Silk Stream for over a year I can say that in the first year the service was fantastic, especially the UK content.

Slow Streams or Buffering?

Are your streams loading too slow? Getting constant buffering? Not able to stream at full resolution? Check out these tips to improve your streaming experience:
  • Use a modern Router that has advanced features like QoS to prioritize video content. Check out our recommended Routers for Streaming.
  • If you are using a Wifi connection, be sure to check out our 9 easy steps to improve your Wifi for Streaming.
  • Some Internet Service Providers throttle video streaming traffic without telling their customers. A VPN encrypts all your traffic and circumvents throttling, blocking and geographical restrictions.

Apart from the UK content, the other reason I stayed for another year was their channel category layout. They are done perfectly and in an organized manner, unlike some subs where the categories make no sense and don’t make for easy channel hopping.

However, all has not been plain sailing as you can understand due to the nature of IPTV.

Near the end of my first 12 months, the service was unusable when the football was on. With constant complaints and the community asking for answers, Silk found a problem with the data centre. The data centre was providing the wrong bandwidth which caused the service to crumble on football day.

This has all since been fixed and I have watched the football with only occasional buffering. I also watched the AJ fight with minimal fuss.

With lots of FHD channels along with HD and SD. Catch-up is also available on plenty of channels but not on the FHD channels. When a channel does go down, you can easily report this in the discord group.

Compatibility

Silk Stream is compatible with every app I’ve tried as they offer the m3u link along with logins for smartest.

They have their own app, but I can honestly say the fastest and best way to watch it is Tivimate.

With a recent upgrade, you don’t require a VPN for when the football is on. But if you do want to use a VPN, Silk is happy for you to do this.

Silk is also quite relaxed when it comes to using multiple connections simultaneously.

Unlike some providers out there, Silk let me use a sub in one location and my other in another. For example, when I’m at my dad’s, I can login and watch the football, while at home my partner can be watching some rubbish using the same account.

Some providers I have been with in the past used to IP lock me so I could only use my multi connections only in my own home. This was annoying if I wanted to watch it on my phone.

I have just started a month trial of another service which I will review at a later time for you, but they have a script built in. If you were to login in to more than 1 connection, it would automatically make your subscription expire.

As I only have 1 connection, it is very annoying and makes me paranoid that if I forgot to close my app in the living room and wanted to watch it in bed, I would get my sub automatically expired.

I hope my review of Silk Stream will help you decide whether or not to give this a try.

The price is reasonable and the reliability is decent. With so much competition out there at the moment, it’s hard to sort through all the rubbish and scammers.

Stay safe.
